I've been reading "Death Note". It's pretty intriguing ... the plot has more twists than a pretzel in a tornado, and just when you think things can't get any stranger ... well, they just do.
I enjoy going to Barnes & Noble or Borders, grabbing a book and sitting in the lounge. At least they get me for the price of a latte, even if I do read the books for free.
I was hooked on Pluto at mangascreener.com Its really good. I would say it deconstructed Astro Boy like Watchmen deconstructed the Super Hero genre.
Basically, Naoki Urasawa took an old Astro Boy story called "The mightiest Robot in the world" (or some translation close to that) and made it psychologically and socially mature. If you compared the original Tezuka to today's Urasawa, its like the same story, but one is from the view point of a 10-year-old and the other in the view point of someone approaching 40.
Its brilliant, especially if you're a fan of Astro Boy. Unfortunately, mangascreener has stopped translating it. Fortunately, Viz has liscenced it and it will be published next year in February.
I'm a fan of manga myself ... for romance of course there's Fruits Basket, but also fun is Ouran Host Club. I also read a horror/action book called Parasyte, it's some pretty messed up stuff, but very good and very intriguing. Full Metal Alchemist is as good as people say, and a "manwa" (the Korean word for it) I've gotten into that I love, love, love is the Great Catsby.
Yeah, but not as much as I used to. Looot of catching up to do. Right now I'm not sure which series is my favorite. Uh, Sgt. Frog is good.
A really good manga-styled webcomic I read recently was Flipside. Everyone knows about Flipside. It's oooold. I need to read more of it.
hi

For a while (years) the only Manga I read was Osamu Tezuka mangas. Recently I started branching out to other manga and am quite enjoying myself, I just started reading Ranma 1/2. Of course Tezua is still my favorite, for my birthday I had my dad buy me the complete Aldof series (including the pricey number 1). I've also been importing Princess Knight, the bilingual version, so far I have two volumes. I also had a heck of a time tracking down the first three BlackJack HC editions. Besides Tezuka, the majority of manga I've been getting into are ones that have been out for a while or are based on other medias.
