Hello,

One thing I'm always curious about is what is everybody's story when it comes to their webcomic. Like is it just a hobby? Are you trying to market your comic? Are you currently making a decent living? How are things going? Basically like a mini interview where we share what's going on in our own personal webcomic-making world. I guess that means I'll have to start...

I started "Good Times" because of a school assignment where I had to immerse myself in the Independent comic world and I made 3 strips to try it out. Well it was actually a lot of fun. This was about 3 years ago and since then I've been evolving and working on making my webcomic something I really like. It's been a lot of fun and I'm hoping that someday I can make it into either a part time or who knows maybe a full time gig I can really have fun with.

Currently I'm debating a "re-launch" of my strip to start fresh and I'm getting ready to go to San Diego's Comic Con to pass out little free sampler books. Either I'll get some new viewers...or people will get some neat coasters out of them! Who knows...

Good Times!

Well, I started reading webcomics ... actually, many years ago, I started doodling in the margins of my school textbooks. We'd have to buy these cheap paperbacks for English class and I'd draw flip-art cartoons in the margins.

Getting a bit older (a lot older) and getting into webcomics, I saw how several of them started out as hobbies, then got to the point where the author said, "I'm going to do this for a living". Right now, my comic is a hobby ... I would be happy happy happy if I could get enough readers to reach the "Do this for a living" tipping point.

Of course, working full-time means not much time to draw ... still, I press on as best I can. One of these days I'll have to start going to conventions and making more contacts.

Never giving up the dream ...

Yes! Never give up on the dream! And I know exactly how you feel with working full time and working on a webcomic. It's insanity sometimes! And the idea of jumping to "pro" would be a dream come true...but also incredibly scary as well!

you know what, this post happened to come upon the same time a buddy and I were talking of the same exact thing. I'm very very excited at the idea that came from it. It addresses creating and maintaining a constant buzz, while also benefiting financially. Ooooo very excited. I'd love to get you two involved in it if you're open to the idea.

Yup, I got it. Sorry, I've been absolutely swamped with getting ready for ComicCon for Roddenberry, plus working on SoulGeek's 1 year birthday party online registration, and LOB stuff and finalizing the template for the "Webcomics High"...whew TGIF! TGIF!!...

I'll be in touch this weekend to give you a major update. I think it will be a great project that's both funny and buzz worthy...

Well, my story is that I'm not a cartoonist. I work in the wonderful world of marketing and happen to have a love, and maybe more of an addiction to comics. I just got into Webcomics about 8 months back for work. I'm the online-guru guy at Roddenberry.com and first got my taste at Webcomics with our introduction of "Gene's Journal" and "Rod & Barry." Since then I've also got my feet dirty doing some awesome stuff with the SoulGeek crew and David Reddick with his "Legend of Bill" Webcomic.

While I love creating online campaigns for cartoonists and their Webcomic to spur traffic, create a buzz or add in some fun incentives to their marketing calendar, I've had in my mind for about a year now the idea of doing a certain comic. So I guess now, I'm story boarding this particular Webcomic and am (hopefully) almost done my search for a cartoonist. Unfortunately I can't draw a lick, hens the stick figure I have for my avatar...

Oh, and I've always thought of developing a community site for cartoonists, Webcomic fans and marketers to come together and swap ideas, share their thoughts, do a little shameless self promoting, make a couple friends along the way and serve as a cool e-chill spot to pass the time...

I'm very glad Webcomics Inc started off with a good crew of members and hope to recruit a good amount of members in the next few weeks to really build the "community" here...

Nice! I'm also a big fan of Legend of Bill..I'll have to check out those other two as well. I'm really glad that you set up this site because it brings webcomics lovers and makers together for chatting, networking...whatever...which is sometimes hard to find on other sites. Good luck with your own webcomic! Can't wait to see it :)

I've got webcomic projects by the megaton. But for now, I'd like to focus on one I call "Whino the Whiny Cat." It's about a talking cat who can whine all day. He whines around all over the town. Whino the whiny cat!
