Hello,

One thing I'm always curious about is what is everybody's story when it comes to their webcomic. Like is it just a hobby? Are you trying to market your comic? Are you currently making a decent living? How are things going? Basically like a mini interview where we share what's going on in our own personal webcomic-making world. I guess that means I'll have to start...

I started "Good Times" because of a school assignment where I had to immerse myself in the Independent comic world and I made 3 strips to try it out. Well it was actually a lot of fun. This was about 3 years ago and since then I've been evolving and working on making my webcomic something I really like. It's been a lot of fun and I'm hoping that someday I can make it into either a part time or who knows maybe a full time gig I can really have fun with.

Currently I'm debating a "re-launch" of my strip to start fresh and I'm getting ready to go to San Diego's Comic Con to pass out little free sampler books. Either I'll get some new viewers...or people will get some neat coasters out of them! Who knows...

Good Times!

I recently graduated from SCAD, where my love and appreciation of Web-comics really began. It's true that I had been reading Web-comics even before I entered college, but it was only in the past few years in which I said "I want to do that."

There is something massively appealing about being able to have complete control over my own project and being able to get practically instantaneous feedback about my comics.

I originally started my current project as a 4 panel strip for a student newspaper. Though I quickly realized that was not working for me or the characters. The comic as you see it now, actually began as a final project for one of my classes. I decided to continue, created a buffer, and I launched the comic in July 08. Now, six months later, I've been trying to attract an audience to my site. I am now trying to prepare for my first comic convention table this summer as well as working on the comic itself.

Which convention are you going to?

I'm still in the set up stage for my webcomic, How To Be Dead. Being 16, I don't plan on making any money off of this, I'm using it mostly as a way of improving my artistic skills, both in drawing and writing. I've been reading webcomics for a few years and I look the step from fan to imitation. It seemed like a fun way of getting practice in everyday.

It's going slowly right now, being a hobby I have to put school first so I don't always have time for it. My goal is to have a regular schedule as soon as possible, even if it's only 2 days a week.

You're 16? Does that mean you missed the 80's completely? I feel old...On another note though I can't seem to find a link to your comic..

I'm still building up the first 15-20 strips before I start advertising it, but if you want to look at what I have up right now I have a temp site here

I've been reading webcomics for a few years now, can't remember what the first one I read was... maybe Megatokyo... anyway, after a couple of years reading them, I decided to create my own. My first attempt ended up on DrunkDuck which people seemed to enjoy, and I learned a good deal from it, but unfortunately, one day I went to check on my comic and my entire account was deleted. With that and moving to a new place that left me without a scanner, I was out of the biz for a while. Now though I finally got myself in gear, a new scanner and bought my own site (all mine now! mwahaha) I've started fresh with a whole new comic Lost in Thought. For now it's a hobby, but one I'm sticking with and hope to make something bigger out of later on. My dream is to one day have a fan geek out when meeting me at a con... silly I know.

I found this site and thought it'd be a good place to meet other artists and make a few good friends in the process.
