problem with profile pic

When I upload my profile pic, its black and white from my computer but on this website it has a blue background. Is anyone else having this problem?

What file type is your images? I'd suggest saving a black and white image as a .jpg. If it's a .png file, I've heard of images having trouble being uploaded on the Web.
