I’m sure every webcomic creator, as well as every storyteller in any other medium, has a lot more ideas in various stages of development than they have published stories. I definitely have. Why would we want to share our undeveloped ideas?

• Maybe you’d like to get feedback on an idea early before developing it further.
• Maybe you’re looking for artists to collaborate with on one project.
• Maybe you’re not sure which of two projects to take on next and would like to hear some opinions from the Webcomics Inc community.
• Maybe you’ve got some ideas of which you already know that you’ll never realise them but you’d be pleased to see others implement their takes on it.
• Maybe you’ve got some reason which I’m not thinking of now.

Note that, while expressions of ideas can be copyrighted, ideas themselves are generally not protected by copyright laws, and it’s hard to tell if a character or a fictional world qualifies for copyright protection. That’s something you should consider when you decide if it’s time to discuss one of your projects publicly.

If you’re going to use an idea which you’ve read here, you may want to make sure that the original poster doesn’t mind. There might be cases in which there is no legal obligation to get permission, but we all want to stay friends here, don’t we?

This is not a place to promote webcomic projects which are already up and running. There is a dedicated Self Promo category in the general forums for that. This group is only for discussing ideas which are still in development or early planning stages.
