How long is a story arc? Well, I've written a couple for 26 years -- but the episodes only go the length of one book. Day In The Life. It's more fun if the readers know ALL the details and ALL the characters but they don't have to -- and they get ...
I definately recommend having an extra set of eyes looking over one's work as much as possible. In my case it's my wife, who is my biggest fan who isn't shy about telling me when something isn't working. I find she has just the right perspective t...
I feel your pain. I planned out my story back in January where my main character quits his job, which I could sum up in like two paragraphs. I'm just now finishing the comic where he walks out the door; so that's ten months for him to get upset an...
Wish I knew the answer to that. I'm in the midst of a very long arc that I fear may be going on for too long. But there's no hard and fast rule. "As long as you're able to keep it interesting," I guess. But it's hard to be objective about that.
Does anyone know how long is too long for a story arc? I just started writing a bunch of strips about my roadtrip, and even though there's a joke in each I'm worried that people will get frustrated and bored with it. I'm even trying to boost the n...
Man, you have to get "Palestine." That's Joe's masterpiece. And not enough people are reading it. It's hard to get people to read comic books seriously. It's why I introduce them with a stealth marketing term -- drawn books -- before I go on to de...
Thanks a lot PBJ, always happy to hear about someone discovering my strip... I'm slowly realizing just how many strips there are out there... Trying to get through as many as I can
Hey... I just joined your group "Slice of life comics" . I'm a big fan of these types of comics, and would like to help others in the group to promote their comics!
I really enjoyed reading your comic, and look forward to more!
Hi PBJ! Thank you so much! I'm glad you've enjoyed it so much :) I've been through your archive and I've had fun reading it. I'm really curious to see what kind of a place Simone's working at!
Thank you, PBJ. Just went through your archives, I see you’re just getting going with this. Well, it looks good, and I like the dialog. There’s a real gritty urban feel evoked by your linework and backgrounds; something I’ve never been able to figure out how to get in my own work. I’ll be interested in seeing what develops.
Hey there:
Thanks for the kind comment. Always good to hear that one's work is appreciated. Hope all goes well with your comic endeavors. It's a rather frightening world to break into--at least to me--and I'm always looking for fellow comrades that are in the same boat.
